We Picked Some of Our Favorite Minneapolis-Saint Paul Breweries (You’re Welcome.)

We’re going to spare you the lengthy intro on this article and get right to the good stuff. Here are our favorite places to drink craft beer in Minneapolis-Saint Paul and why we like them.
We created this list by sending a dude who has committed his life to knowing craft beer and good food. He ranks the beer, the atmosphere and the food together to find the best possible brewery experience for you.
Have fun in Minnesota – maybe we will see you at the bar. Cheers!

BAUHAUS BREW LABS

1315 Tyler St NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413

This place has a HUGE covered patio with a wall of arcade games, a concert stage, and rotating food trucks that are on site regularly. They put their space to great use and are always hosting live music or other fun events like pop-up shops & yoga! Do we need to say more? Didn’t think so.  Their patio welcomes puppers of all shapes and sizes – so come ready to pet some doggos if that’s your thing.  They also have an air hockey table – so make sure you warm up. Done. Sign me up.
We Recommend: Wagon Party (West Coast Style Lager)

612Brew – PintPass Member Brewery

945 Broadway St NE, Minneapolis, MN 55413

This place is known for their live music and was founded by a group of friends. It’s nested in one of the city’s most historic buildings, which has enabled the use of the basement as a venue for music acts and private parties. Their shuffleboard tables are a hit – so don’t forget to brush up on the rules so you know exactly your score. You don’t want to be cheated out of your win like I was.
We Recommend: SIX (American Pale Ale)

Northbound Smokehouse Brewpub

2716 E 38th St, Minneapolis, MN 55406

This is where you want to be for a great beer along with some even better food. They put their smokers to good use and their menu features a myriad of dishes like: smoked trout dip, smoked cheese curds,a smoked turkey sandwich, smoked trout tacos, smoked chicken wings… you get the point. If you can’t make it to the brewpub – you might be lucky enough to see the Northbound Smokehouse food truck on the streets!
But the smoking isn’t just for their food. Their Smokehouse Porter is made with house-smoked malt, giving it a subtle campfire aroma behind the chocolaty roast.
We Recommend: The 18 Hour Porketta Sandwich practically falls apart – in the best way possible. Pair it with their Honey Wheat for a perfect balance of flavor.

56 Brewing – PintPass Member Brewery

The various pinball tables are perfect for bar-room bets – make sure you make it on Wednesdays for trivia night. Their new taproom is awesome for a night out with friends or somewhere to sit down and have a cold beer after a long day.

We Recommend: Mango Saison

LynLake Brewery

2934 Lyndale Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55408

LynLake Brewery is located in a historic 100-year old theater complete with neon marquee and an AWESOME rooftop patio that has 2 large firepits that are perfect for chilly fall evenings.  The taproom offers flagship beers, seasonals, casks, nitros, plus Big Watt cold press coffee on tap. They don’t have a kitchen but their partnerships with some favorite local restaurants who deliver curated bites right to your seat. World Street Kitchen and Taco Cat are just a couple of the awesome eateries that have made their way to LynLake Brewery.
They offer growlers, occasional tours, and trivia and bingo nights. Oh, and the ceiling lights will blow you away every time.
We recommend: Sideburns Milk Stout

Now before you go bananas and think that we missed a ton of good breweries…trust us we know. Minneapolis-Saint Paul has over 70 breweries in the immediate area so narrowing it down to this small list was one of the hardest things we’ve had to do in a while. This list is just a few of our favorites that have a great blend of food, atmosphere and really great beer. So get out there and try them yourself and let us know how right (or wrong) we were!
